The North Somerset Branch of the National Autistic Society works to provide information and support to individuals and their families.

It is believed that, although there is no ‘cure’ for Autistic Spectrum Disorders, people who are affected by them, can be helped to adjust to the world around them.  By doing so, both the individuals and the community can benefit from the unique perspectives and abilities that people living on the Autistic Spectrum have to offer.

We as volunteers of the North Somerset Branch of the National Autistic Society attend meetings, to represent the views and raise concerns of parents and carer's living in North Somerset, with the Local Education Authority, the Local Health Authority and Social Services.

We as volunteers of the North Somerset Branch of the National Autistic Society are committed to equal opportunities for all and the development of a working partnership with professionals and with other voluntary organisations.

We keep in contact with other groups.

Informal support group meetings.

These are an opportunity for parents & professionals to meet each other. We the North Somerset Branch of the National Autistic Society welcome anyone who has concerns and would like to know more about this condition.  No diagnosis is necessary.

We also meet in Weston once a month on a Wednesday evening, from 7pm to 9pm.

We now have a resource area at The Campus in Weston (near Baytree School), on the third Tuesday of the month during term time, from 10 am to 12 noon.
